Teenage birthday wishes - Stampin' Up!

Hi all

Can't believe that my little Nephew (who is in fact taller than me!) is going to be 13 this week. Obviously that calls for a card. He always opens his cards from me with a 'I hope this is handmade' Well of course!

Here's how to make it:

  • Create a standard A6 card from Smoky Slate card
  • Score the front panel in half and fold back, creasing the fold with a bone folder
  • Cut a piece of DSP to fit the front panel then use the other side for the inside of the card 10x14.5cm
  • Cut 2 circles using circles framelits one from Whisper White and the other Bermuda Bay
  • Stamp candles in Bermuda Bay, Watermelon Wonder and Cucumber Crush then the flame in Daffodil delight. I find using a piercing mat under your card will give a sharper stamped image when working with photopolymer stamps.
  • Cut the 13 from Cucumber Crush using File Tabs die and glue with fine line of Multi Purpose Liquid Glue
  • Put Glue on Bermuda Bay circle on half the circle and glue to front panel
  • Add the stamped circle with dimensionals
  • Stamp Birthday Wishes in Cucumber Crush trim to size and create fishtail ends with Paper Snips, adhere to stamped image with dimensionals

I glued a piece of Whisper white on the back to add my message and stamped greeting.

Sketch Challenge - Happy Hour! Using Stampin' Up! products.

Hi all

My kids are still off school so maybe that's what led me to think of cocktails so early in the day :) or maybe knowing finer weather is on the way. I'll let you draw your own conclusions! Either way I hope you like what I did with this week's sketch challenge from:

Colour challenge - Spring has sprung!

Hi all

This weeks colour challenge had spring written all over it in my opinion and Stampin' Up! have the perfect stamp set for it.

CAS Colours and Sketches challenge #116

and this is my entry

The From the Garden stamp set is just too adorable. It has matching framelits available as a bundle so you save 15% on the price when purchased separately.

I used Strawberry Slush thick bakers twine and pulled threads from it to give a more delicate finish.

Sketch Challenge - Label Love

Hi all

I'm a little late with this week's challenge, I usually make them on a Sunday but as it was Mother's Day I was too busy being spoilt :)

This is the sketch challenge CAS colour and sketches blog set this week

Anything with a banner shape is just fine by me!

I used the Label Love bundle which come with the Artisan label punch saving you 15% on the price if you were to purchase these items separately. It's a great stamp set with a good range of sentiments.

To give my punched sentiment a border I punched it out again twice in Daffodil Delight and cut them as per image below. Tombo (a wet adhesive) gives you that 'wiggle room' whilst lining up to create the perfect border.

Sketch challenge time! Spring is coming....

Hi all

It's time to bring you my offering for this week's challenge again!

Challenge #111 Sketch challenge

It's really simple but it scared me a bit, I'm not too proud to admit that despite my approx 15 years of paper crafting experience! It's not that it's technically difficult, just out of my comfort zone.

This is my interpretation, made from a 5x5" card base.

I've added some elements but it's a great sketch if you're just starting out and have a limited amount of crafting stash.

Training day - swaps

Hi all

I had the privilege of spending a lovely day crafting with my my wider Stampin' Up! team this weekend. Organised by my fab upline, Fiona and another very talented demo who runs her own successful team, Pip.

It's customary for demo's to  exchange 'swaps' and I received some very beautiful projects which will serve as inspiration to me and my customers.

This was my swap.

I love the bright colours of the All Abloom dsp stack and I popped chocolates inside too!

This design was shown to demo's in America at their catalogue launch and I used the dimensions provided by BJ's Stampin' Spot here.

All Abloom dsp

Large oval punch
Strawberry Slush Stampin' pad
Daffodil Delight & Whisper White cardstock
